There are three orchestras offered at Grandview High School. Students who become highly involved in these orchestras may earn a Grandview letter.

Chamber (by audition only)
Advanced string musicians, mostly upperclassmen, membership strictly by audition. This group performs original and arranged college-level repertoire from all styles. Primary focus on refining musicianship, technicality, and fosters high-caliber performance standards.

Concert
Emerging string musicians, mostly ninth and tenth graders, membership requires no audition, but minimum prerequisite is two or more years of experience on a string orchestral instrument. This group performs original and repertoire from the Baroque and Classical eras, pop, Celtic, Rock and Roll, and many more. Primary focus on refining technique and some remedial concepts.

String Quartet Club (Invite only)
Meets: 1st and 3rd quarter every Tuesday 3:35 - 4:30 pm, 2909
Symphonic (by audition only)
Intermediate to advanced string musicians, mostly upperclassmen, membership by audition. This group performs repertoire from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern eras, as well as jazz, pop, Celtic, Rock and Roll, and many more. Primary focus on refining musicianship and technicality.

Sounds of Healing Club (invite only)
Students form small ensembles and prepare music to perform at area hospitals and senior homes if possible to arrange.
