Grandview High School Athletics

Each sport has a participation fee:

• $125.00 per sport
• $60.00 per Unified Sport 
  Unified Sports® refers to inclusive sports programs that combine individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities (athletes) and individuals without disabilities (partners) on the same team for training and competition. 

Fees are paid during the online registration process. If a student does not make the team in a cut sport, the fee is refunded.

Fee assistance / waivers are available for families who qualify. Please contact the Athletics office for information.

Physicals are valid for one year (365 days) from the date of the exam. Students must have a current physical examination signed by a licensed physician on file before they may participate in athletics. The Sports Physical form is uploaded during online registration and must remain valid throughout the entire season.

Students may not practice or compete until all medical clearance requirements have been completed.

What happens if a physical expires during the season?
The student will be ineligible to participate in practices or competitions until a new physical is submitted and approved.

Important: Page 4 must be signed by both the parent/guardian and the student.

Tryouts begin on the first official day of practice.

Some sports have cuts, while others are no-cut programs. Tryouts for no-cut sports help coaches determine the appropriate level/team for each student.
 
Coaches will communicate tryout procedures, expectations, and team requirements before the season begins. Students and parents/guardians will receive communications once they have registered.

The athletic participation fee will be refunded if the student does not make the team.

This varies by sport and will be communication by the coach. In general, the school provides equipment and competition uniforms. Students provide their own footwear and practice gear

Students are responsible for:

• Cleaning uniforms between competitions
• Returning school-issued equipment at the end of the season
   

Coaches communicate directly with athletes and families each season, and the game schedule reflects live updates including weather cancellations and time changes.

We encourage students to play a sport each season. If a student wants to participate in two sports in the same season, they will have to talk to each coach.
