GRANDVIEW

Grandview High School is a comprehensive, college
preparatory, public high school located in the suburban
area of Southeast Aurora. Grandview is a part of the Cherry
Creek School District and is accredited by the Colorado State
Department of Education.

STUDENT BODY

Currently enrolled at Grandview are 2,668 students,
comprised of 49% Caucasian, 22% Hispanic, 10%
Asian/Pacific Islander, 10% African American,
8% Multiracial, and 1% Native American.

GRADING SYSTEM

Grandview High School’s official transcript reflects both a weighted and an unweighted grade point average and rank. The same grading scale is used by all Grandview faculty. Weighted grades are given in those courses designated as either Honors or Advanced Placement. Concurrent Enrollment courses are offered, but not weighted. The weighted and unweighted grades in terms of GPA are as follows:

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The Cherry Creek School District continues its strong tradition of a rigorous academic program to prepare students for college and career success. To receive a diploma from any high school in the district, every student must demonstrate college and career preparedness in both English and mathematics. To graduate from GHS, a student must successfully complete a minimum of 22 credits from the following disciplines:

  • English - 4.0 units
  • Mathematics - 3.0 units
  • Science - 3.0 units
  • Social Studies - 3.0 units
  • Physical Education - 2.0 units
  • Practical/Fine Arts or CTE - 1.5 units
  • Elective Offerings - 5.5 units

 

At the end of each semester, 0.5 credit is  awarded for each course completed with a passing grade.
