Welcome Back Letter and Information
August 4, 2026
Dear Grandview Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are so excited to have you back, and for those new to Grandview, welcome! Thanks to you, our 2024 Bond Project that included new flooring and paint throughout the school is just wrapping up, and it looks like a brand-new building. We hope you can join us on Back-to-School-Night, August 20th, to see it for yourselves!
We will start the school year with freshmen only on Thursday, August 13th, for 9th grade orientation (a separate email to 9th grade families will be sent again Monday). Freshmen will learn about Grandview, walk their schedules, and briefly meet their teachers. Monday, August 17th, all students will return for an 8-period, full day to walk their schedules and meet with their teachers. On Tuesday, August 18th, we will begin our alternating Blue/Black schedule. The Phase-In Day Schedule, Blue/Black Calendar, and Back-to-School-Night flyer are attached to the email with this letter. All are available on our website as well.
Last school year, we asked for your help in getting students to school on time, every day, so we could intentionally focus on engagement from bell to bell. We also instituted a new cell phone policy where students used cell phone holders at the front of every classroom to store their phones during the entire period. Both initiatives proved successful for our students and teachers, and we thank you for your support in that.
Soon, you will hear from our district about the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and what that will look like for high school students this year. This page on the district website will provide you with the vision of the district regarding AI and the guidance our teachers will follow in the classroom. We know there is a lot of information out there, and part of our role is teaching students how to use the information in front of them. This is new for us as educators, and we are navigating this world like our students are.
Please make sure all Cherry Creek School District and GHS-specific check-in items are complete, including paid fees/fines, so that your student is ready to go day one. Schedules will be sent home via email next week if all items are complete. We are ready for the new year and look forward to having your students here in just days! At Grandview, we are One Pack!
Go Wolves!
Sincerely,
Lisa Roberts, Ed.D.PrincipalGrandview High School
