Students are expected to have their school issued computer and charger for all test days.

Grandview High School values all assessments as measures of student progress and opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning. Thank you for your support of our testing programs.

Wednesday, October 7, is College and Career Readiness Day. This will be a half-day for all students. This is a testing day only; no regular classes will be held.

Test dismissal: 11:45 a.m.
Lunch will be available at the conclusion of testing.
Buses will depart at 12:00 p.m.

9th Grade

All freshmen will take the PSAT 9 Readiness Test with their Advisory class.

10th Grade

All sophomores will take the PSAT 10 Readiness Test with their Advisory class.
Sophomores who have registered and paid in advance to take a practice PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will also test on this day. Interested sophomores should see their counselor for more information.

11th Grade

Juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) with their Advisory class.
Please bring your school ID.
Students may bring a College Board-approved calculator and a computer mouse for use during testing.

12th Grade

Seniors may attend school for assistance with college essays and applications in the Library. Interested students should sign up with their counselor through Schoology.
Seniors who have registered for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will also test on this day. Students should see their counselor if interested.
Seniors may be contacted to attend on this date to complete graduation requirements.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is an optional standardized assessment for juniors co-sponsored by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It is the only qualifying test for the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition that provides recognition and scholarship opportunities.

Juniors do not need to register for the PSAT/NMSQT, as they are automatically registered for the assessment.

Sophomores may also register separately for the PSAT/NMSQT; however, for sophomores, the exam serves only as a practice opportunity and is not a qualifying test for National Merit Scholarship consideration. Sophomores interested in this optional opportunity should contact their counselor for additional information.

Spring Testing: SAT/PSAT/CMAS

April 14, 2027

PSAT 10 – 10th Grade
SAT – 11th Grade

April 15, 2027

PSAT 9 – 9th Grade
CMAS – 11th Grade

These assessments are provided at no cost to students, and eligible students are automatically registered.

There will be no regular classes on April 14 or April 15.
School will be open for breakfast from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
Buses will run on a normal morning schedule and will depart GHS at 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be available prior to bus departure.
Seniors will not attend on either testing day. Students are encouraged to use this time to prepare for AP Exams or final examinations.

Please check your student's Seminar Schoology page for information about free second-semester test preparation resources developed by GHS teachers and available to all juniors.

Testing Opt-Out Information

Parents who wish to exempt their child from a Spring 2027 PSAT 9, PSAT 10, SAT, or CMAS assessment may do so by logging into their my.cherrycreekschools.org parent portal account and completing the Parent Exemption from State Assessment Form.

College Board Information

All students are encouraged to utilize the College Board website throughout the school year to access test preparation materials.

Additional Important College Board Testing Information

Students must bring their school-issued computers and chargers to school on October 7. Students should ensure their computers are fully charged before testing. Students who arrive without their computers will be unable to test, and no make-up exams will be offered.
Please ensure that your student's computer and the Bluebook testing application are updated before arriving at school on all testing days (see attachments for instructions).
PSAT/NMSQT scores can be accessed through your student's College Board account. Please practice logging in with your student using their College Board username and password. The school cannot access this information for students. Please have your student share this information with you so it is readily available for future testing and score reporting throughout high school.
