GrandviewTV Continues to Produce Great Results at JEA

This past weekend, Grandview Publications (Yearbook, Grandview Chronicle, and GVTV) went to Minneapolis for the Journalism Education Association's National Convention. Students had the opportunity to attend workshops, meet other student journalists from around the country, and even win some awards!

Grandview Publications competed in four categories and placed in the top ten in two of them. GVTV announcements, for the second straight year, placed 9th in the nation in the Broadcasting Announcements category. This is a staff award, but these efforts were led by Josh Koepke and Yumika Mori.

The other award goes to Chelsea Wilhelm for 1st place in the nation in the Broadcast News Video category. Her video, "No thoughts, No Prayers, Just Action" covered the student walkout from the beginning of the year. Congratulations, Chelsea!

Journalism awards season is just underway, so keep an eye out for more awards coming to Grandview Publications at the state level.
